Bondi Beach Promenade, Sydney, Australia November 7-30, 2025

My work was presented outdoors along the Bondi Beach Promenade as part of the annual Head On Photo Festival in Sydney, founded in 2010.

The movement of people and the presence of the ocean became part of the viewing experience, as the viewers encountered the photographs outside a traditional gallery setting.

The exhibition offered an opportunity to share the photographs with a broad public audience in one of Sydney’s most familiar and vibrant locations.

Jazz Crossroads Gallery, Houston, Texas, USA May 16- , 2026

My college roommate and dear friend, David Parker, owner of Jazz Crossroads, who now teaches music and hosts small concerts there, invited me to show my photo series Subtext during my first visit to the city in 30 years. He had been thinking about creating a small gallery space at Jazz Crossroads, so the exhibition became a natural and unexpected collaboration between old friends. The opening brought together photographers and artists from around Houston, friends of David and his wife, Francesca, and old friends from the twelve years I lived in Houston.

Paper Pool Cafe & Gallery, Tokyo, Japan September 22-30, 2016

This self-produced exhibit marks my first time displaying photographs taken with my iPhone. I found a printer that was able to print photographs in large sizes from my iPhone data onto photographic roll paper, as well as regular record-album-size prints and a variety of other sizes.

I also made a mini photo book to commemorate the exhibit and ordered it online. One particular photo, β€œThe Jump,” became especially memorable when I used the image for the cover of the book. By chance, when I returned to the same spot in Hawaii the following year, I was able to meet the person I had photographed and give him a copy of the book.
