I’m a bilingual Japanese photographer, and when I see English printed on T-shirts, bags, and accessories in Japan, I often find myself thinking, “Do you know what that says?” For ten years, I’ve photographed these funny, strange, and sometimes outrageous fragments of English and paired them to create accidental conversations between words that were never meant to meet.
